My life was changed this weekend.

But really.

I had the absolute pleasure of partaking in a three-day seminar called the Nerdy Girl Academy.

Here’s what they’re about:

The NerdyGirl Academy is an invigorating 3-day seminar, designed to professionally develop Inland Empire women in the collegiate and professional market. Our academy challenges women to develop clear-cut career strategies and dares women to remain their powerful authentic selves in their pursuit of their corporate or entrepreneurial endeavors. Through various workshops taught by renowned influencers, women dive into social-emotional development, competitive skill-set building, and career advancement techniques.

This seminar focused on three different areas:

1) Social Emotional Support

2) Competitive Skill Set Building

3) Career Advancement Techniques

Through this seminar I was able to confidently network, share what I do and what I want to do with powerful influential people, I was able to let go of anything that was holding me back and replaced it with so much self-love and self-esteem.

I don’t want to give it all away, but we had people come into talk to us about our own mental health, communications, teach us how to work out, update our linked-in profiles to make us more competitive, handle our finances, build our own business, and so much more.

We were able to build a support network of women who saw it ALL and when I say ALL I mean all the ugly tears that each one of us shed.

I discovered a very important truth in myself that I always knew, but never wanted to say it out loud, which is essentially this: Is this really for me?

I say this because it feels as though in life I’ve always done something because someone else was doing it and I was like “Oh yeah, I can do that too” or “Yeah, that fits into what I want to do, I guess”. I didn’t realize that all this time I was hurting myself, by not letting my own passion lead the way.

There are three things I know to be true about what I want in life. I’m still working on how I’m going to accomplish that, but they’re this: I want to change the world, travel the world, & make money doing it.

That is MY TRUTH.

One of our speakers said one of the most incredible things I’ve ever heard: “You are not enough for what is not meant for you, but you are more than enough for what is.” -Kindra Davenport

I came out of this experience with three unique opportunities to work with three incredibly influential and inspiring women. Just because I was in the room.

I know my worth.

I know my passion.

I know who I want to be.

I know where I want to go.

& I’ve decided that it’s time I stop wasting so much fucking time.

I’ve taken away more than I could have ever imagined from this experience. Monica & Destiny are two of the most inspiring women I’ve ever met. The fact that they are doing this work, making it affordable for women to attend and develop these skills, and do such a beautiful job is just a testament to how beautiful they are both heart and soul. They are changing lives and they are changing the world.

If you want to know more about Monica, her instagram is: @monica.stockhausen & Destiny’s is @destinythemuse.

I will forever be grateful for Nerdy Girl & I will forever BE a Nerdy Girl.

Thank you for this experience.
